No Denial of Tarkan Love Rumours
An interview with Nil Özalp, who has recently released her first solo album, in Turkish paper newspaper Akşam, cites her as refusing to openly deny recent rumours that she and Tarkan are an item (see left pic).
Özalp - who had been mixed up in love rumours with Turkey's megastar last year - took the first step of her solo career this month with the first video single to "Acıkolik", a Tarkan penned track that lends its name to the album.
"I Don't Want to Talk About It"
During the interview, which discusses how her album came about with Turkish singer/songwriter Serdar Ortaç opening the way for her with a birthday gift of two songs she had wanted, and Tarkan, upon hearing of her album, coming along during the final stages to complete it, the inevitable question about the love rumours cropped up.
"These stories came out before the album, during our time in the studio. Naturally, those that heard we were together in the studio brought out these rumours. But I don't want to talk about this during my album's release. I don't feel comfortable talking about my private life, so I'm going to skip this subject," she is quoted as replying.
The previously published rumours, which have been re-printed by Turkish news giants like NTV, too, claims that the relationship has been ongoing for five months and has been kept secret from all but a few sources closest to Tarkan.
UPDATE: Supporting Tarkan in Difficult Times >>
They write that while the artist was cooped up at his mother's home immediately after his release over the drug bust, they continued seeing each other over the phone, with Özalp supporting the singer during his arrest.
