Press Snippets: The Boss is Back

By Adelind Osmanlı reporting from Munich, Germany

"Can't Get Enough"

With columnists in the Turkish media leaking out some tantalising titbits about Tarkan's 2010 album, a woman's portal has published a line to another song from the album.

It writes that Tarkan will sing about not getting enough of kissing his love, to a dance tune that the post claims will rock the music charts in Turkey this coming summer.

The article has also tagged the title "Acımayacak" ("It Won't Hurt") claimed to be the new Sezen Aksu song that some are saying has the potential to be bigger than "Şıkıdım" (A-acayipsin, 1994).

"The Boss is Back"

Long time Tarkan music producer Ozan Çolakoğlu has posted tweets on his Twitter account that reveals work on Tarkan's 2010 release is still ongoing, while the Turkish megastar's ex-backing singer Murat Boz has tweeted that "the boss is back".

"Love's Last Strike is the Boss' unstoppable return to the mic...I love it...whatever he does is amazing," Boz tweets.

Columnist Misses the Target

Although in the minority, negative reports about Tarkan in the press are taking place, including female correspondent Öncel Öziçer - who is one of the few not to have been won over by Tarkan's latest musical strike as yet.

Öziçer continues her previous nasty narrative in her Saturday column, saying that the megastar's song suggests that he has missed the target with his upcoming 2010 album, too.

In a tone bordering on rude, she suggests Tarkan needs a hot love affair to inject life passion into his songs, otherwise he will continue to drag along with every other artist.

Öziçer ends her short diatribe by saying that nevertheless Tarkan is worth supporting because of his past career, and that she "loves him".
