Seven Songs from Sezen?

By Adelind Osmanlı reporting from Munich, Germany

After a close aide from Turkish diva Sezen Aksu's camp tweeted that Tarkan put seven songs from Aksu into his 2010 album, the story has now made the pages of the traditional media.

Screencap of reports

Both media portal Haberturk's variety section HTMagazin and celebrity portal Gecce have published accounts that Tarkan's 2010 album will be released in July, and that the Turkish megastar is working on songs composed by Aksu.

"Tarkan Sings Seven Songs from Aksu!"

Gecce's report writes that Tarkan's "continually postponed" album will "finally be released in June.

"Having tested the musical waters with his track "Sevdanın Son Vuruşu" ("Love's Last Strike") last month, Tarkan has been busy recording at studios in Kavacık [in Istanbul] since March.

"Even moving his own settee from home into the place, he is working day and night with his producer Ozan Çolakoğlu. This time Tarkan is singing seven songs from Aksu, one of which is about a little girl called Ceylan who died after an explosion in Diyarbakır.

"And as Tarkan gets ready to make fans dance in the summer months to his fast track "Acımayacak", Aksu had one last minute surprise for Tarkan and managed to make a new song called "Aşk Dansı" ready in time for the album. Tarkan is currently recording "Aşk Dansı" in the studio," the article says.

"A Seven Month Wait for Seven Songs"

Meanwhile in the pages of HTMagazin, variety reporter Mehmet Çalışkan writes that Tarkan waited seven months for seven songs, and claims that it was because Tarkan had waited for Aksu that he postponed his 2010 album.

Writing that Tarkan has now entered the final stages of the album, while "wetting the appetite" of listeners with "Sevdanın Son Vuruşu", the article pushes forward the claim that the reason why the album has taken so long is down to Aksu.

"The album was going to be released in December last year, but Tarkan postponed the album because he really wanted Aksu songs in his album. After Aksu had told him to find other songs if he wanted to, as she couldn't finish the songs he wanted in time, he had said that he would either release with her or not at all.

"Waiting seven months, Tarkan has finally got his wish. Aksu has prepared seven songs for the megastar, amongst which are songs called "Acımayacak" and "Üşüdüm".

"Jumping for joy after the songs were ready, Tarkan immediately entered the studios to start recording. The famous pop singer's album will have one song by Aksu's son Mithatcan as well.

"Completing the songs for Tarkan, Aksu is now getting ready to holiday in her summer house in Izmir," HTMagazin correspondent Çalışkan writes.
