Tarkan News Wrap-up for May

Adelind Osmanlı (Munich, Germany) and Ayşe Fevri (Ankara, Turkey) reporting:

Tarkan in Cyprus for May 26 concert wraps up May with a successful Cyprus concert, and looks to June, where he will continue with venues across Eastern Europe and Russia. However, a concert in Romania has been put forward to July and a second Russian venue postponed until further notice.

Meanwhile, under construction until just recently, the official site to Tarkan's music production company HITT has released information of Tarkan's first Turkish concert for summer 2006. It's planned to be an intimate affair held in Istanbul, under the sponsorship of Avea.

Also reported to be out this June, "Start the Fire", the second single from the album Come Closer now seems could be released in early July.

Even though Urban, a division of Universal Germany, shows a June 9 release date, both the English and German language sections at the official site for the singer currently report the news that the single will be released in early July, correcting a previous entry.

Reasons for this could be to avoid the single's release clashing with the World Cup event being held in Germany, which starts in June.

However, as always there is nothing definite from official sources.

Finally, plans for a three-part Tarkan TV programme to be aired on Turkish TV channel Star TV seems to have been postponed indefinitely. It was planned to be aired towards the end of May, however there are rumours that Tarkan changed his mind due to a busy summer schedule.

Tarkan will step on to the Bulgarian stage on June 2.
