Tarkan at LIVES NYC and Free the Noise Events
Currently in America's New York City, Turkish popstar Tarkan's calendar was busy this past week, with the recording artist popping up at social and charity events and music shows.
Free the Noise
Italian based style site Fashion & Runway reports in its agenda that on 15 September veteran Hollywood actor Dennis Quaid and Tarkan were the special guests of US fashion designer John Varvatos as he played host to a concert for the 'Free the Noise' contest in his Bowery NYC boutique (see left pic).
Headlined as the "Global Search for the Next Rock and Roll Band", it was a unique event amongst a throng of Fashion Week parties as three bands battled it out in true rock and roll style for the coveted winner's title.
The winning act will now be signed and developed by Island Records and become the face of the first John Varvatos USA ad campaign. The campaign will be shot in NYC this week by Mick Rock with YARD, the Varvatos creative agency of record.
Up-and-coming bands had submitted their original material on the global music platform SpinEarth.tv. In addition, SPIN Earth's network of more than 350 worldwide correspondents scoured clubs and festivals around the globe for the freshest talent.
Meanwhile, as reported previously, on the 16 September Tarkan was at a red carpet charity event for EMILIE HUMANITARY in their global efforts to provide free surgical care to children, broadcast worldwide in 193 countries by Fashion TV.
Tarkan performed at the benefit, hosted by Fashion TV and Zink Magazine, with the RdV luxury lounge transformed into a high-energy venue for the good cause.

Lifestyle site Scallywag & Vagabond correspondent Natalie Fasano (pictured below with Tarkan at the event) covered the evening, and labelled the artist's new hairstyle as eye-catching.
As the gutter press in Turkey have been quick off the mark in their attempts to ridicule the singer's new hair cut, Fasano writes, "As I entered RdV lounge, the bright bulbs of Fashion TV cameras pirouetted throughout the dense crowd, at once revealing glittering, multi-colored diamond jewelry, scarlet lips and precipitously stacked hair styles.
"One of the most notable coifs of the evening belonged to Tarkan, Turkish World Music Award winner and nameplate of the evening."
