The Megastar is Back!
The article writes that the last time Tarkan had hit the beaches was in 2001 with "Kuzu Kuzu", and that those who had danced to it that summer were now probably married with kids. "The year is 2010. Tarkan has made his latest strike. The Cadde jury are in, the megastar has taken back his crown," Cadde proclaims.
Comprising of ten men and women from the entertainment sector, including critics, musicians and producers, seven out of the ten members gave their vote to Tarkan when asked to vote which pop singer would have the biggest summer hit between Tarkan, Hande Yener, Demet Akalın and Serdar Ortaç. One abstained, while one voted for Yener and another for Ortaç.
Amongst those giving their votes to Tarkan is music critic Naim Dilmener, who had turned against Tarkan in the past few years, and musician and music correspondent Melis Danişmend, who had written a tongue-in-cheek critique of the star for Rolling Stone magazine in 2006 and ignored Tarkan in an article about about the attempts of Turkish music artists to cross cultural borders last year.
The Cadde Jury Give Their Vote
İzzet Öz (TV producer of music programmes): "For me Tarkan's song "Sevdanın Son Vuruşu" ("Love's Last Strike") is first. I believe we need to show our support to him."
Hıncal Uluç (Journalist): "This summer's hit will be "Sevdanın Son Vuruşu". It's impossible for me to choose anyone else from this four."
Melis Danişmend (Journalist and musician): "It looks like this summer's hit song will be Tarlan's "Sevdanın Son Vuruşu". Or at least I hope so, because between [the four] he and his team are the only ones that have placed more importance on music without worrying about chart success."
Naim Dilmener (Music critic): "I'm of the opinion that Tarkan and "Sevdanın Son Vuruşu" will be the best song of the summer. The failures suffered during the Metamorfoz period have made him want to return to his heydays. I don't think this is a great Tarkan song, but compared to the other songs/names it stands out like a Madonna song. I don't even call what Serdar Ortaç and Demet Akalın have done 'songs'."
Çağlan Tekil (Editor of Blue Jean Magazine): "Tarkan doesn't have to make a great song to get people to listen to him all throughout the summer. He's loved by everyone, so the first choice of the DJs will be "Sevdanın Son Vuruşu"."
Asu Maro (Variety writer for Milliyet): "Sevdanın Son Vuruşu is a strong track that captures the ears from its intro. And if you believe the masses have missed Tarkan doing something with teeth for a long time, it's not just his song, but his album that will be the big hit this summer."
Meltem Fıratlı (Editor of Billboard magazine): "Tarkan's vocals are undisputed. Nothing can stop him when he finds the right song. "Sevdanın Son Vuruşu" is just this song. It's ideal for Tarkan. It has love, rebellion... We are going to witness Tarkan's rebirth once more this summer."
And Those Dissenting
The three members of Cadde's jury panel that didn't vote for Tarkan included Milliyet's own celebrity journalist Ali Eyüboğlu who abstained from voting for any of the four artists, saying that none of the artists songs were super enough to make their mark on the summer.
"Although a typical Tarkan song, "Sevdanın Son Vuruşu" isn't a "Şıkıdım", Eyüboğlu says of Tarkan's 1994 track from the album A-acayipsin, while Hürriyet music columnist Tolga Akyıldız is of the belief that although Tarkan's song "isn't bad, it isn't the magic wand he needs, either," and gives his vote to Yener instead.

And finally, music writer Mehmet Tez, despite writing about Tarkan striking the right chemistry this time in another article, gives his vote to Ortaç as the singer most likely to generate the hit of the summer.
