Press Snippets: Tarkan Song of the Week
"Turkish paper Sabah has selected Tarkan's "Sevdanın Son Vuruşu" ("Love's Last Strike") as its song of the week today - although the paper adds the term megastar in quotation marks.
"Turkish pop music's 'megastar' Tarkan shared his Sevdanın Son Vuruşu titled track from his latest unreleased album on his website at the start of the week. The song's lyrics are written by Aysel Gürel who died two years ago, music is by Tarkan with production by Ozan Çolakoğlu.
"After it was aired first reactions from fans were very positive when played on national radios. The number of those, who have listened to the romantic lyrics against an up-tempo beat reacting as though "Tarkan is back", is large enough not go ignored," Sabah writes.
Having bought Gürel's house, Yüzbaşıoğlu had been tidying up when she found two song lyrics in some files. She called up to ask Gürel's daughter what she should do with her mother's effects, and was told that she could do what she liked with them. So, she then sent the writings to Tarkan through mutual friends, Cadde claims.
And finally, in a small piece of unrelated news, Tarkan has been mentioned in a Cadde article in relation to other media names out and about, where the Turkish megastar's ex-girlfriend, forty-three year old Elif Dağdeviren has been spotted with popstress Demet Akalın's ex-husband.
