Tarkan appeared at Kral TV's annual VMAs, opening the 16th award ceremony.

When the clocks struck nine local Turkish time this evening, Turkish pop music's megastar Tarkan took to the stage at the Haliç Congress Centre to perform his as-yet-to-be released latest album's track "Sevdanın Son Vuruşu" ("Love's Last Strike") for the first time at the 16th Kral VMAs.

Tarkan looked calm and relaxed and flirted with the camera as he sang his latest song live for the public in the stalls and the seated celebrity audience. The host thanked Tarkan for kick starting the event and asked for another round of applause for the star.

Turkey's megastar did not appear again for the duration of the ceremony, or duet with Turkish diva Ajda Pekkan as some news sources had rumoured.

The red carpet opening had started promptly at 7.30 p.m. local Turkish time, where the public greeted their favourite stars as they arrived for the event, with Tarkan kick-starting the Monday evening ceremony.
