Tarkan To Ask Turkey to Wake Up

Turkish news station NTV has reported that Tarkan is set to appear live on its main evening news slot to talk about his new track "Uyan" tomorrow, with an exclusive airing of the music video filmed for the promotional "earth-song".

Tarkan on location for the music video to "Uyan"

Set to air on October 16, at 7.00 p.m. (local Turkish time), the music video, sponsored by Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream, is aiming to reach a wider audience in a campaign to raise awareness about Turkey's fast disappearing nature and wildlife.

This will be Tarkan's first live appearance on a news show since 2007, when the artist appeared on TRT's main news slot to promote his end of year show for the broadcaster.

NTV Turkey is a Turkish nationwide television news channel. NTV was founded in 1996 and has partnered with MSNBC since May 2000.

The start of October had seen the release of the first issue of Turkish nature conservation society the Doğa Derneği's magazine Doğa, with Tarkan's single "Uyan" (Wake Up) as a free gift with the publication's première.
