In another quick look at news reports that mention Tarkan, the stories over the recording artist's new hairstyle revealed at a society bash in New York City still continue, with Turkish paper Hürriyet writing that Tarkan has started a "punk" trend in Turkey.
And while Hürriyet cites female singer-songwriter Yıldız Tilbe as one of those to have recently joined Tarkan's mohican tribe, paper Milliyet writes that weekly celebrity magazine Hafta Sonu is publishing an article on what other celebrities, including Tarkan, would look like bald, in a dig at recent criticisms by Turkish Tarkan fans over the star's hairstyle.
Elsewhere, twenty year-old female singer Atiye - who will open Tarkan's concert on 3 October in the northern Turkish territories of the island of Cyprus - has spoken to northern Cypriot paper KIBRIS on a recent day trip to the island (see left pic).
Revealing that it was her first time in Cyprus, the singer with Dutch and Turkish parentage declared herself a Tarkan fanatic who grew up dancing to his songs. "I'm really excited to be up performing before my idol Tarkan," she said.
Finally, a local news agency for the Turkish region of Bolu has printed upcoming details of a festival to be held this year, which it reports had been "overshadowed" by Tarkan's headlined gig last year.
Appearing at the 2nd annual Bolu White Meat Festival in 2008, reportedly a crowd of 100,000 people had attended the Tarkan event.
