Tarkan Love Song for Ex-Love?

By Adelind Osmanlı reporting from Munich, Germany

Screencap of reportsMedia portal Haberturk's variety section HTMagazin has run an article which claims that Tarkan's reported song "Adımı Kalbine Yaz" ("Write My Name Across Your Heart") was written by the Turkish megastar for his ex-girlfriend, businesswoman and lawyer Bilge Öztürk.

Tarkan and Öztürk amicably spilt in 2008 and she is now in a relationship with professional water sportsman Salih Alexander Çakır.

"Write My Name Across Your Heart, Remember Me"

On the same subject, celebrity correspondent for Haberturk, Oben Budak picked up on the gossip for his 9 July dated column, adding in his article's final paragraph:

"Really the album I had listened to was completed, and should have been released on 14 July at the latest. I speak in the past tense, because this is Tarkan, you don't know what he'll do!

"The album's real event is Tarkan's amazing opening piece. The track called "Adımı Kalbine Yaz" was written by Tarkan after he split from Bilge, and he's been so open about his feelings that it's impossible not to be touched by it. Watch out! This time the real Tarkan is coming!"

Columnist Budak Foiled Again

However, the Turkish megastar seems to have foiled Budak again by holding the album back at the last moment to reportedly add more songs to its play list, sensitive to the criticisms that six new songs would not be enough.

The Haberturk columnist had recently tweeted that Tarkan's album postponements make him feel as though he is lying to his readers, although he had said that Tarkan's album would be out this week with almost definite certainty.

UPDATE: Budak writes about album delay >>

While Budak's following 11 July dated column - written before the last minute pull-out by Tarkan - gave out more details of the pop megastar's 2010 album.

"This is Tarkan's Album We've Been Waiting For!"

"I hear that Tarkan's album, which I had briefly chatted about last Thursday, is coming out this week, so it's only right to give out the remaining details.

"I'm usually wrong [when it comes to details], because everything about Tarkan changes so fast. But this time I've learnt that the sleeve has also been printed, so I rest easy.

"The album's name is "Adımı Kalbine Yaz". The name of the song that was written for Bilge is now the name of the album! I say album, but don't expect a 15-16 track thing, you'll be disappointed. There are only 6 new Tarkan songs with remixes of three of these. One of these is, of course, the song we've haven't tired of listening to for months, "Sevdanın Son Vuruşu" ("Love's Last Strike")."

Budak goes on to write that Tarkan's favourite song is "Kayıp" ("Lost"), saying, "The music is by Tarkan, the lyrics by that special man Günay Çoban! There'll be a lot of tears over this song ... even Tarkan's eyes well up when he sings [the song]!

"Another song that will touch you is "Adımı Kalbine Yaz". The first video single will be filmed to the version which is the perfect summer hit, perfect for Tarkan! You're gonna say, "Yeah, it was worth the wait, this is Tarkan!" But there is an acoustic version to this song, which is the perfect aperitif to lose yourself with your fish and raki."

On the question of the other songs from the originally considered album, Budak hinted about the two part album idea and advises to "make do for now with these.

"Tarkan is full of surprises. He won't stay away too long from now on, he won't make us miss him so much. Before these songs get too old, a second Tarkan album could hit the charts. The giant awakes, take note!"
